I have an IP 500 on 8.0 with Embedded set to Intuity mode, and E & M T1. Several users experienced voicemails cut off while caller is speaking. I heard one message and it was not a silence issue, the man was saying a word when the recording ended. Another user states a woman was cut off also.
The caller states the voicemail spoke to them when the recording stopped, but unsure what the prompt said.

Any suggestions or has anyone else had similar complaint?

Possibly hit the 2 minute message limit, system says "The system has stopped recording" or similar when this happens :)

Message limit is 2 minutes by default...but will go up to 3. Still a lame limitation. Worse yet is the 60min limit with pro!

No kidding. Maybe back when hard drive sizes were puny and expensive...but terabytes are the new rage. I had talked with a guy who knew a guy that was involved with writing the vmpro software and he said in order to change it it would take an entire re-write of the software. I'm like just do a ctrl+F and change the 60 to 9999999!

I forgot to mention, the message I listened to was cut off after about 10 seconds. I left 25 messages over 2 hours today and could not recreate.
I left a laptop on site with Embedded vmail tracing enabled. Will have to capture a failure and send it off to Avaya.

Thanks anyways guys [thumbsup]

It could be the "babble detector" kicked in and just silenced the user!

oh how i wish that was true.

problems are only problems if they have a resolution, otherwise its just an undocumented feature :p

Had a customer with the same issue. Changed Embedded vm to IP Office mode - no more problems

Had same issue & Avaya had no clue...had us change out the SD card....don't know if that fixed it I havent been back. Oh I was able to recreate it before the SD card was changed...didn't test after it was getting late.

we changed out the SD card, changed it to IP Office mode, we even convinced the customer to order a new T1 (PRI). Months of pointing the finger at the provider, it appears the IPO is the issue... after Catalyst and Avaya said "Nope, clearly its not the IP Office" I downgraded them to 8.0.16 last week... we'll see.

If only Avaya knew when they put us through, its pathetic.

I've had the same issue at one site with all the r8 versions in Intuity mode. I have the max message length set to 180 seconds, but it is randomly cutting off between 30-60 seconds.

Just installed another IP Office rls 8 & Intuity mode & talk off right away so I send an email to Avaya asking for an update on this issue and got a reply back stating we now are aware of the issue. Here is what they had to say. "There have been other instances of the issue. A patch has been created that filters out A, B, C and D DTMF tones. Traces collected from your site showed “A’s” being detected as well as some “1’s”. So, the patch would definitely lessen the occurrence on site while we collect traces and get them up to development to determine a more comprehensive fix." So there you go....hopefully I won't have to jump through hoops to get the patch.

We are now seeing a system doing this exact thing.
we thought the change to IPOFFICE mode for VM prompts took care of it ... but today it reappeared...

I'm having the same issue with one customer running intuity mode on embedded voicemail. Just upgraded them to 8.1.52 hoping that might help but the problem came back. Please let me know if anyone hears of a fix.

I wish I had good news, but after a couple of patches, I was unable to get it resolved with Intuity mode on a T1. I changed the voicemail type to IP Office mode and retrained everyone. We have not heard anything since (2 months ago). I am a little nervous after vid151's post now.

Have no fear……I chased down AVAYA and they said that there is a fix for this in the 4th quarter release. Here’s what they say.
“There is a fix that just came out in the last couple of weeks for the phantom DTMF tone on embedded voicemail issue that will be GA in the Q4 2012 8.0 Maintenance Release due out in mid-December.”

Also there is a new patch available now but you will have to jump through hoops to get it from Avaya. Best thing to do for now is switch to IP Office Mode if they can’t wait a few weeks. (You can switch between modes without losing user data, such as passwords, greetings, or messages.)

Just before they started developing R7 Avaya sacked it's best/most experienced tech guys and moved development to a third party company in eastern europe, as such most features released since R7 either don't work at all or don't work very well, intuity mode with embedded being one of them :)
