Hi all...Thanks in advance for any help you can offer...

I have one user (at least that is the only one to complain so far), who for short periods of time will send out emails that contain no "from" address. They appear to be delivered ok; but are never actually sent (even though the emails in question appear in the "Sent Items" folder with a blank "from" field).

I am trying to determine if the user was doing anything unusual during those times. He is an offsite user.

Thanks for any help! AJ

There are quite a few posssible causes, depending somewhat on your user's mail client.

If this user is using a POP3/SMTP client, then he's probably got a configuration error on his client, or a bug, or possibly even just an unreliable link. Note that when sending via unauthenticated SMTP the client can say anything it wants for all mail fields - check the PC side basically.

This is just one of several possibilities, the more details the better chance of finding a solution.

If you have Symantec Filtering or any other anti-virus software, check the configs for those as well.
