Hi all,

I’m running win2k server, exchange 2k server and MS Outlook 2003. I used SetDSTDates to patch the exchange server and Outlook Time Zone Update Tool on all Outlook 2003 clients. The clocks and everything seem to be showing and working correctly, however I just discovered that the emails time stamp is 2 hour off in OWA…for example, I sent out a test email at 2PM, I got the email in my Outlook 2003 inbox at 2:01PM…and the same time I got the email in OWA inbox, however the time stamp of the email in OWA shown at 4:01PM.

Thanks for any help!
Henry

I could not find any patch for Exchange 2000. Anybody got any suggestion what I need to do to resolve this OWA issue?

Thanks,
Henry

You have to pay $4000 for the patch. Our OWA users are dealing with it until 3/31 since there is a handful.

The MS site above ONLY helps with users who are using Outlook 2000 or above, NOT OWA since that is directly linked to Exchange and not an external program.

Danno74,

you meantioned "Our OWA users are dealing with it until 3/31".

I assume the OWA issue would be resolved by then because that is when the nornal DST time would start? If that is the case then I guess I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks,
Henry

The link I provided has a method in which you can go in and fix the OWA issue without have to pay MS for the hotfix.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

We have been told by several sources including MS that it is not possible without paying. Can you please point out the portion of this page that deals specifically with Exchange 2000? You can run the mailbox update tool in Exch 2000, but there is no fix for Exchange itself available in this KB article. This is what it says to do after you run the mailbox tool:

What to do after you run the Exchange tool
Install updates
After you finish updating all Exchange servers in your environment, install the following update on the Exchange servers:
926666 Update for daylight saving time changes in 2007 for Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2

There is nothing for 2000.

Sorry Henry, to answer your question, they have to wait until the normal DST for their appointments to be correct unfortunately. No fix to my knowledge.... and I really hope not because I had a dogfight to tell them either fork over the $, deal with it, or upgrade Exchange. Had to categorically produce all evidence and research I did and the IT groups I talked to verify this would be the only part of the DST update we were unable to correct.
