Emails do not appear in Outlook Inbox automatically??

Hello all,

My company uses Outlook 2000 on Exchange 5.5 server (soon moving to Exchange 2003). I have one user in my company who has a bizarre issue.

Over the past two weeks, no new mail appears in her Inbox until she opens an existing message. At that point, any new mail suddenly appears! This has happened to no one else!

To troubleshoot, I deleted and recreated her Outlook profile, to no avail. I then completely removed and reinstalled Outlook, again with no resolution to this issue. We use the Corporate/Workgroup configuration and hers is no different than our standard set up.

Anyone else ever experience this???

I had this problem... I tried tons of different fixes, but the only one that worked was upgrading her workstation to Outlook 2003 (and make sure you disable caching)... hope this helps...

I too had this problem and it turned out to be caused by the Windows Firewall. Exchange contacts the workstation to tell Outlook to ask for mail and the firewall can block such requests.

Are you referring to the Windows Firewall in XP? My users all have Windows 2000 Professional.

I am referring to the Windows Firewall. Do you have another desktop firewall installed which could be causing similar problems?

No third party firewall installed. The only different thing she has installed is a free version of Pop-Up Stopper but many of my users have that and do not experience this issue with Outlook.

Hi, I had a user with the same problem, fixed it by applying SP3, but she was running Office XP.. do you have all the service packs for office 2000 installed?
