A user at my company keeps having emails disappear from
her inbox. These emails are being permanently deleted,
and they can't even be recovered from the deleted folders
option in Outlook 2002.
I checked all of the rules that the user has, however
none are set to delete emails permanently.
I've tried uninstalling outlook, deleting all rules, but
nothing has worked.
This is the information I have:
1.We're using Outlook 2002 with Exchange 2000.
2. The user was infected with the Sorbig bug--not the
virus itself, but the bulk emails kept coming to her
inbox during mid-August. During that time I setup a rule
to permanently delete certain subjects lines, but I
deleted that rule immediately after I realized it was a
client side rule.
Is it possible that the rule looks as if I deleted it but
its still on the client side???
3. The emails being deleted have attachments, but its
random. She can get some emails with attachments. So
the problem isn't related to a specific attachment type.
4. The emails being deleted isn't related to the subject
line either.
5. The problem is coming from the client side because
she can view the emails via OWA, but as soon as she looks
at her mailbox, the emails are immediately deleted.
Thanks in advance if you can help me!!!! Any suggestions
are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Nadya
