Email w/ Bell Sympatico not working

Not certain if this is router-related but I can surf with no problems but my email (MS Outlook XP) is timing out and not finding the pop and smtp servers when testing. The address itself is functional because I can check my mail at their homepage with the 'GetMail' function. I remember running into this problem about a year ago and their was a router setting I tweaked which fixed it right up. Where's the darn documentation?(Always forget to right stuff down!)
Connection is DSL using Efficient Networks Speed Stream modem.
Any help is greatly appreciated
 
Error message added:

Task 'pop8.sympatico.ca - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

I have the same problem since upgrade to 1.46 firmware from Linksys website with BEFSR11
 
The router MTU needs to be manually set. If the firmware is causing issues and not respecting the value:

. Do a the "loooooong" reset:
. If no joy, revert the firmware to an earlier version that worked. See for guidance:

i still have the same problem ...

When i connect direct to the modem i have no problem

But sending email with a linux is ok.

I only have problem with Outlook with BEFSR11 (i have made 3 cold start and Default settings)

 
go to and do a domain dossier. type in your wan ip and check the service scan. You will know if the email ports is open or not. And if you have norton AV on your computer, disable that.
