Does my internal email server have to share the same name as the external DNS an MX records?

For example, if my external MX and DNS records are for mail.domain.org and my internal server is named differently, say MAILSERVER.internal.domain.org, will the mail still be delivered properly as long as the NAT settings are correct?

Thanks in advance!!

The server can be called anything you like. It does not have to match the MX record.

Chris.

Thanks, Chris! Got the mail server up with much less pain than I though. I appreciate your assistance!
