Hey gang,

We have a user that is trying to send an email in created in HTML format to users outside of our workplace. When the intended user gets the email it is in plain text. I too have tried to send an email using my account to my gmail and yahoo accounts and they show up as plain text only. I have gone into File, preferences, User preferences, mail, and interent to check the Interent mail format. No matter what I change it to, it shows up as plain text. I sent my gmail/yahoo accounts a sentence that was underlined and with red letters and it just showed up black and normal. Any suggestions? We are using Lotus Notes 6.5.

I should also post that any users inside of our network using Lotus notes is able to see the underline and red text.

Check your location document, specifically the Mail tab and the "Format for messages addressed to internet addresses" select MIME as the format for messages. This will try to keep all text formating.

That was the trick. Somehow though, whenever the user sends an email, she was getting an warning saying she requested to sign this internet message, but the current ID doesn't contain a certificate. I don't know if she did it or what, but Under user preferences, mail, the sign the outgoing message of something to that effect was checked. After I unchecked it, everything worked fine.

Thanks Trez....
