Hi,

I'm facing this problem with one of my Solaris 9 server. I've configure sendmail on this server to send out email notification. But the problem is, the mail that i've receive is from "Super-User [root@HOSTA]" without any domain name. I've another similar server but the sender is from "Super-User [root@HOSTB.domain.com]".
I've check both server, the configuration for /etc/hosts, /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/nsswitch.conf is identical. Can someone pls help me on how to configure the HOSTA so that the send out mail will have the full domain name.
Thanks.

You have to change line in the file /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

# my official domain name
# ... define this only if sendmail cannot automatically determine your domain
#Dj$w.Foo.COM

for example your domain name is: example.com
change last line to:

Djexample.com

then restart sendmail

Hi uuperl,

I've try the step you mention above but it still can not works. Below is what i change on sendmail.cf.

# my official domain name
# ... define this only if sendmail cannot automatically determine your domain
#Dj$w.Foo.COM
DjMyDomain.com

Any idea on this?
