Can anybody recommend any books or online courses that i could try that teach you how to make online ordering for webpages. Also what programs are best to use.

Is it possible to make a order page that gets sent into a database that can be printed out?

Check out PerlShop. It is free shopping cart. You can purchase add ons if you want to but it is possible to set up a shopping cart without an investment.
