Hello,

There is a requirement for us to let the user notified via email if he or she didn't login to Content Server for 6 months. Could someone throw some light on how this can be achieved. Appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Venkata

Well the simplest would be to look if the user has not logged on in dauditnew and then set up a job. Most Oracle or SQLservers run on either windows or unix. sending email in OS's are pretty easy.If you want to go crazy you could create a scheduled web report, provided you own it and do it that way.If you want to still go more crazy you could write lapi, oscript or webservices to do these things but at the end of the day I would probably just use a decent SQL tool

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Thanks Appu,

I have already created a LiveReport to know which users are not logging in, in the last 6 months. But, I don't find a way to send an automatic email to those concerned users notifying them the same.

Regards,
Venkata

well I am unsure how I will use a LR and set it on an automated mail schedule
One could very easily take the source of the LR and turn it into a scheduled job
Have you tried that approach? You can ask OT if they will entertain a feature request
to turn a LR into a sched thing also.

Well,

i am pro WebReports and do not see it as crazy stuff...

if you do not have the WebReports Module from OpenText (previous Resontate KT), then it it likely worth obtaining it. the Term WebReports does not cover the actual possible enhancements. Creating powerful Reports with all the fancy stuff you need. The Source for the End result is often a DB Query and as it is structured data, the rich output options can be presented structured as well, just like a normal browse page or so. output destination and behaviour of how and when to output is all in the module.

moreover it is possible to use pseudo code to build quickly output pages and triggers can be set on such resulting reports. meaning if an x amount of time has gone by the trigger will execute an event like send a mail. ( or use the mentioned scheduled option..)

all and all the components are all there, indeed mentioned earlier, access to the internal mail component from O-script point of view to manipulate the header and body is likely subject to a code change .. for example the zip and email page allows for free header and body behaviour but not template is present. i did develop this for a customer meaning that predefined options are not out of the box... ( this was 971 )

not trying to sound like a salesperson but WebReports is a must have. really.
