Email Acting Strange 1

Here within the past week, my email has been acting funky. I will receive emails, and if they follow a rule, they are placed into the appropriate folder. If not, they go to my inbox, where I can read them. However, after about a minute, they just disappear...no where to be found. The ones that hit a rule and go to a folder, stay indefinitely..they do not disappear.

Now, today, I'm sending but not receiving any email at all. If I reboot the exchange server, messages that have been addressed to me or replies to me come in.

I am really new to Exchange Server, and know I'm probably asking a rookie type of question, but this has me baffled considering I haven't changed a thing on the Exchange server to make this happen.

Thanks for any help you can provide me.

Please, does anyone have any ideas on this?

I do know that if your account is also setup somewhere as a POP3 account (ie, home machine), then what happens is that you get the email, and if the POP3 email client is open, it checks for mail (every minute or two), and then downloads the mail from your mailbox to the offsite local machine.

Check to make sure there's nothing setup like that.

What version of Exchange are you running? Another good troubleshooting tip is to not use your Office 200x Outlook, but to use the webmail client from your LAN

This way, you are looking at your mailbox, and bypassing any Outlook issues. Outlook 2000 is notorious for bugs....

So, try the Webclient, and what version of Outlook and Exchange do you run?

Thanks, Chief.

No, I'm not using a Pop3 account...only access my email while at work.

Using Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition, with Outlook 2000.

For what it's worth, I rebooted our ISA Server this morning...and now it appears that I am not losing any messages....

Forgot to mention...I was having the exact same issues with the webclient access as well.
