How do you accurately count the number of reports, not the number of jobs, that a user has run over a certain period of time in EM?

By running simple test reports, it is known that a job is NOT the same as a report. Running two reports may give a total job count of 4, when I really want to see a total report count of 2.

Thanks for your help.

you could probably create a report with "report" and "time executed" on it. The number of entries probably indicate how many times the reports were run by the user.

Your problem is that the metric "RP Number of Reports" does not count the distinct reports. Therefore it shows the same number of reports as "RP Number of Jobs" since every job belongs to a report, right?

I have set the "distinct" function parameter of the count function to "true" and it worked for me. Now "RP Number of Reports" counts the distinct reports and "RP Number of jobs" counts the jobs on the reports.

Hope this helps!

I am not finding the function parameter listing for the count function. Am I supposed to be modifying the function or the metric? Could you please be more specific as to how to change it to "true"?

Thank you so much for your help!!

Once you open the metric editor for"RP Number of Reports" the definition looks probably like this:

Count(Report) {~}

Mark Count and right-click. There should be an option in the context menu called "parameter of: count"

There you'll find three parameters. One is called "distinct"
This parameter is set to "false" and has to be set to "true".

That's it!

You might want to try this on a copy of the metric since I don't know if you use it in other reports.

Good luck. ;-)
