Hi Folks,

I am wondering if anyone has any experience using any third-party access reporting tool for Ellipse? Our client is finding it challenging to configure the district logins, global profiles, authority types, and access levels.

Does anyone know of any third party tools that do a good job on reporting access assignments within Ellipse? Ideally, something with a reporting functionality that can produce clean reports on who has access to what to facilitate a review for the segregation of duties.

To support the administration and tracking of Ellipse security we utilised specially designed DB extraction queries formated around Excel sheet pivot tables. This allowed the adminstrators to quickily identify users and profiles affected by proposed changes and to highlight inconsistencies.
The extracts where used for district, login, security (Both 020 and MSQ), Positions and Authority types.
To support the process we incorporated a significate amount of detail for both the security positions and profiles in the Ellipse security data to ensure it was maintained and updated with the data.
This allowed the Excel sheets to obtain all the required data from Ellipse with no duplication.

Addons is one of the best when you need to accomplish something outside of base ellipse functionality
