Can someone give me some guidance on how to reset an Elitemail LX to factory defaults. Do to layoffs last year, my customer has lost all the Sys Admin codes for the VM. I have the IP address but can't get past the Web Login. I need access to the maintenance menu.

I figured out the IP address and logins for the IPKII but no one knows anything about the old VM codes.

This is the procedure for the AD-8. It might be the same.
Turn SW 2 + 4 on, then reset VM.
Conncect the laptop and access the archive/dearchive database file. Then go to the dearchive file and set it to use the default settings.
After that, set sw 2+4 back and reset.

If you can access the Elitemail LX using putty (or other SSH program) via the IP address, you can default the system through the Maintenance Menu. If you can gain access, here are the steps:

1) Once you're in the maintenance menu you will need to stop the voice mail service
2) After voice mail is stopped you will need to access Maintenance--> Database--> Restore default database

This will only default the database information (except the greeting in "OPEN" will remain).

If you cannot gain access to the voice mail using the IP address, there are steps to use Hyperterm and a DB9-to-DB9 NULL cable to gain access to the Maintenance Menu through the serial cable.

What steps are required using serial connection? I have a voicemail to service but the IP was changed and forgotten.
