elink install and administartion is explained in its guides in the KB.Also the architecture of elink is as I explain.
Company creates a mail route of their choosing using a mail carrier. If it is exchange they create a SMTP connector so any email addressed to a mail sub domain within the company such as elink.mycompany.com can be forwarded. They create the SMTP connector to a ELINK server which is a customized version of the sendmail daemon.
The elink module which is a oscript module is installed and configured in the livelink server. There are communication checks available so you can test whether the livelink and elink server can communicate. You then can use command line methods to post email and retreive as well.
When all said and done you enable objects in livelink to be "elink enabled" and this gives it a friendly address such as "myfolder@elink.company.com" this when it reaches the company mail box will get redirected to the elink server and a elink agent will pick it up and store it in livelink
Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
