I have a report with information in the page footer this information only needs to print on the first page; the subsequent pages need to have that information displayed again. The information suppressed on the subsequent pages but the space is still taken up as though the info was still showing.

You might try rereading your post, you atste that it's only needed on the first page, yet the subsequent pages need to have it displayed again.

Does this mean that you want to conditionally print? So that when the report is printed, it only does so on page one, however when viewed it always displays?

And please remember to post your soiftware version with any post about any software product.

Since you say that it's being suppressed, I'l guess that you used the term print inappropriately, and you need to simply right click the section and select format section->suppress blank section.

If this doesn't handle it, please try reposting with technical information and demonstrate the intent using consistent terms..

Thank you and it was supposed to be "don't need."
The software is Crystal Reports 7.

I've tried the format section >suppress blank section it doesn't allow the text from the details section to grow into the rest of the space.

There are 4 groups, the Report footer, then the page footer.

I don't know if there is a better place for part of the information that is in the page footer. I need to allow the details section to expand while the info needed on the first page remains at the bottom just above the page footer. I tried to put the info that "doesn't" need to repeat on each page in the report footer but then it moves the info up and down the page if more or less info is reported in the detail section.

If the report footer otherwise works for you, you can go to the section expert and format the report footer to "print at bottom of page".

I want to thank each of you for your suggestions, I've tried all of them with no luck. The detail section will not print information below the top of the page footer even though the space is empty. I tried "underlay following sections" with no luck.

Once you move the page information to the report footer and format it to print at the bottom of the page, you can suppress the page footer.
