Does anyone know of a user account which can be used to elevate priveleges to an end user so they can run applications that require power user access but at the same time keeping system restrictions in place as on Windows 2000 Server there doesn't seem to be a power user.

Hi there,

I haven't used it much myself, so I can't answer too in depth of question about it, but have you tried the runas command? Where I work, we have programs that temporarily need admin level privleges (Driver install and the like), and we have the program runas the administrator account.

Open a command windows and type runas /? to see the help info for this command.

Not sure if it will do what you want, but worth a shot.
