Anyone know why I would've lost my list of IP addresses on the left hand side? I connected to one system and all was ok but when I connected to another a few hrs later they all disappeared. No problems logging into the systems. Just the ips disappeared

Sounds like you just changed the view. I do it all the time so it doesn't take up space on the screen.

Just click on view on the upper task bar and make sure Element Navigation Panel has a checkmark beside it. You can toggle it on and off at will.

No that's not it. The only IPs listed are 10.10.10.1 & 10.10.11.1. All others are sudden gone. I've had this happen several times. Just find it odd.

Had that happen after updating my element mgr on an SU update. That issue was addressed by Nortel and you can retain them now.

Also, if your IT network does remote updates, especially security updates on your pc; it has wiped it out too. Usually after it prompts you 'do you want to restart your computer?' Same flippin' updates usually bung up my autocad LT too. Do you have admin rights on your pc or just user?

I usually keep an additional copy of summary.xml on my computer in cause the next SU, element mgr, and cartridge install wipes it out.

Also, if you 'rename' the element and use a non-standard character (A-Z, 0-9 and - are OK), then you will lose all your elements.. Basically EM see's the XML file and can't figure out some things in it, so it will erase and start a new one..

Good to know. As I said all I did was unplug from one BCM and plug into another. Didn't download a new cartridge or anything.

Oh well at least I know it's happened to others.
