I running CS1000 5.5 with dual cores. Having problem changing out MC32S card in the signaling server cabinet.

Presently 3 MC32S card set up a followers. When I input the replacement card it comes up as unregistered. I pu the Elan ip addressing in via the rs232 port on the L adapter on the back of the cabinet. When it boots it says to update the IPL via the EM element manager. When I login to element manager via the Tlan, go under nodes. All I see is node 0 the signaling server, I think I show see the MC32S cards here to but they are not there.

Looking for some help in this issue.

Thanks

you must not enter the ip address thru the command line. It now thinks it is a leader. You need to go to command line and do the clearLeader command.

under cards in node properties, build mc32s card using the elan mac address (should be on front of card) and your ip addresses. reboot and card it will pull down all its information by bootp.

If you are replacing a mc32s with a mc32s card it should already be programmed. You just need to change the mac address from the old card to the new card.

if the old card was a mc32, not a mc32s, you will need to change card type and add an additional tlan address for the dsp.

When i swapped out the MC32S I ran the config from the command line when logged into the card. when I reset the card it boots but display shows unreg, the other two show F000. When I login to element manager it only shows the signaling server node not any of the MC32S cards. Do I need to add them manually ?

you need to add in element manager and include their MAC address. save and transmit.

Trasmit to the cards will fail the 1st time - do a ClearLeader on the cards since you added IP address. Then reboot the cards.

Cards will send a bootp and find Sigserver who has MAC address info and card will pull its info and boot up.

Then load patches and reboot again

How many nodes do you have? They could be in a different node
