When I try to install EM from a BCM 50 it with stops with an error or gets stuck on INSTALLING and never goes past that. This MCB is about 7 years old and probably have never had any updates. Is there something special with windows that I need to do, I have the latest JAVA installed.

The problem we've had using Windows 7 is permissions. Unless the permissions are completely open you can't get the cartridges to download. Do you have an administrator account?

Yes I have noticed that. This is one of the reasons why I disagree with small to medium size installation being networked. Over the years these changes to Windows, Patches and conflicts within networks sets up a barrier between to service for the customer on new or existing installs ( that I have taken over ). It is a lot of wasted time and money when I usually walk up to a MICS or CICS and log on or easily default it. It is not just Nortel it is with other systems as well. I mean really how much security do most of my clients really need?

I like it when the outside world is not interfere with the telephone system. It is in its own little protected world untouched by changes to Windows or other network factors. Just leave the poor little phone systems alone and let them do their job faithfully and reliably like they have done in the past. Dependable service for the customer. Let the rest of their networks crash ad burn but the ringers will keep ringing and the dial tones will keep dialing. Or something like that.

Ok end of my rant!
