I am trying to figure out how to get the red light to stop blinking on a phone. The phone has been programmed for a new user to include voice mail, security codes, etc. However, the red light continues to blink although there is not a message in voicemail. Any ideas?

Thank you...

A red light could indicate a call back request. From the phone pickup the handset and press #, if it calls another extension make sure it gets answered, then hang up. At this point the light should go out.

I tried it on the employees phone, however after I pressed the # sign it wanted the security code. The employee has left for the day so I will try it again tomorrow.

Thank you...

Is there a DSS at the receptionist?....Is the DSS key for him lit? If so,press the MSG key on the DSS/BLF and his DSS key (to cancel MSG blinking on his phone)...hope this helps..

If the light was set at the DSS the MW light will blink green. Most likely he has a call back request set. If pressing the # key only calls voicemail then his voicemail has set the call back. I would try pressing speaker, # wait till voicemail answers then hang up. I would do this several times in case multiple attempts were set. After this I would completely reboot the system.
