I'm not familure with NEC products, so I could use some help. I was called out to replace a UPS on an Electra Elite IPK system. The customer was complaining that the phones were randomly shutting down and restarting. I replaced the UPS, and the rebooting problem has stopped. The customer now states the voicemail is not lighting the message waiting lights when new messages are received.
I had them delete all messages from a mailbox then left a new message, no mw light. Tested setting a mw light from another extension and got the light to come on. I was also able to do a callback to the extension that lit the light and got the light to go out. I'm thinking that the voicemail believes the mw light is already on, so it's not telling the phone system to re-light the light. Is this right? How can I get things back in synch?
I don't have a manual or software to administer the voicemail, so any info on where to find one would help.
The marking on the voicemail card is VMP(x)U40 ETU
Thanks
