My school uses emac. The cdrom drive is hidden behind a lid. How can I eject the cdrom drive? What command to use to eject?

There should be an eject key on the keyboard (top right key)

John

I've got a stepladder. It's nice, but I wish I knew my real ladder.

In regard to this and your other CD-ROM post...

It is possible that the CD-ROM has been disabled in a school setting. Are you logging in under an admin account?

Depending on your keyboard, you can try F12. We have a number of users (myself included) who prefer keyboards other than the Apple ones with the cd eject key - like Jim said, upper right with the triangle pointing up. F12 works on these.

If it's stuck, try Restart and hold down the left button on your mouse during the restart.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

I don't have a Mac handy to try it, but on a lot of Unixes you can open a terminal window and type "[tt]eject cdrom[/tt]" and it will open the tray. Usually only if a CDROM is in it already.
