Any one have experience of migrate from egate version 45 to version 51? Can give some guide of how to batch upgrage instead of upgrade 1 by 1? or any tips of how to effectively migrate?

Thanks for helping....

migrate? there is almost nothing, which remained same. reengenering is the answer, but do not investigate to much, also from ican to caps, you have to do the same.

Hi jztam,

Lieni is right. Unfortunately there is no out-of-box migration tool. If your eGate 4.5.x are written in monk, then you are SOL. If it's written in java, then you have a chance to migrate the java collaborations to JCAPS 5.1.x. But it's tedious, since the 5.1 OTDs are not compatible with 4.5 ETDs. You will have to cut and paste the java collaboration code from 4.5 GUI to 5.1 GUI then edit each line that references ETD and replace it with the proper OTD entry.

Typically, I recommend migrate to SRE 5.0.5, which is the only remaining eGate 4.5x compatible version that is supported by Sun. Then develop new interfaces in JCAPS 5.1.3 and let the old interface live out it's life or at least until Sun announces that they will de-support SRE.

Good luck,
