Hi, I was wondering if there would be a detrimental effect of having tables with 150/200 columns in a table. I have a query which takes over 45 seconds to run on 2 tables which are joined. One table has 150 fields, the other has 200. They also have 86000 and 260000 records and 22 and 17 indexes respectively.

Its 8.2 running on windows with all the default postgres.conf settings.

Thanks

I haven't tried tables with so much tables, but

it doesn't matter how many indexes a table has, if they are not proper

Thanks, I think it might just be postgres being slow on windows. I have run the same query on a linux server running 7.4.5 and its over twice as fast.
