Hi,

Does anybody know how to edit the MNC file so that I can create my own menus and edit the keyboard shortcuts in AutoCAD 2000? The online help says that you can do it and what you can do, but it doesn't tell you how or where to do it!!

Thanks,

Renegade..

for keyboard shortcuts simply edit your acad.pgp file. Make sure you follow the outline for the existing shortcuts and make sure not to create conflicts with shortcut commands.

You cannot edit the MNC file.

You have to edit the MNS file.

The "How-To" is in the developer documentation under Custom Menus, but it should be fairly obvious if you edit open the MNS file in Notepad

To create custom menus I use this totally free program. So far it works with 98, ME, NT4 and XP. I really can't recommend this little program highly enough.

You can edit *.mnu file and it is fairly simple. Once u load the *.mnu file using MENU command, *.mns and *.mnc files are automatically created.

If you are using AutoCAD LT, the file is ACLT.PGP rather than ACAD.PGP

just FYI ~~ Laziness is the mother of invention ~~
