Hey again,
I first posted a question here about 10 months ago about changing the creation date of a newly added document. With the help of 2 of you here, I managed to find the solution to that and I'm hoping this will work again! lol
So, my situation is the following. I am working on modifying the importation tool I wrote 10 months ago and the new required addition is that the original creator of the physical file be referenced somewhere in the livelink document.
The first option I looked at was changing the ID of the creator of the document, which I managed to do. On the other hand, I was informed that this option is not viable since the naming convention of the windows usernames is different than the livelink one.... so, the matching would not work.
Therefore, the new option is to simply add a comment referring to the original author in the description of the document (on the General tab of the properties of a document). My problem is I can't seem to find the way to access and modify this information from the API. Sounds very simple but... is that simply not possible from the API?
Thank you for your help
Vince
