This is driving me nuts, I've searched everywhere and for some reason I can't even find a closely related topic.

I have word set as my email editor. All want to do is, while composing a new email, jump into the source code, edit a few things, the send the email.

Why does outlook not have a single menu item, help topic or contextual menu that lets you do that!?

please help.

Had similar problem, wanted full control of code to send HTML email. Couldn't find how to but found a different way...

Open word 2003, select file , New Web page. In new window select view and HTML source.

Only problem is Microsoft Script Editor opens and formats the code!

Any clues anyone?

Well, normally I use the Send as web page from IE which is fine if the page already has absolute links set up and you dont need to get to your Office app for any reason.

Alternativly you can open the page in IE, select all, copy, and paste into a new email.

Thats all well and good but the other day I send a mail to a distribution list and a bunch of them replied saying the images didnt show up. So the main reason I want to know how to edit the actual mail message is to feel confident that outlook isnt rewriting or embeding anything on the way out.

I hate microsoft a lot less these days but things like this remind of how much burning hatred I used to have.
