Editing mp3s in Premiere 6.0 ? 6.5 ?

Is it correct mp3 music files can be easily edited/mixed in Premiere 6.0? Is it also true the mp3 editing functionality is not in Premiere 6.5? Is there a mp3 plug-in for 6.5?

If I already have 6.5 installed can I install 6.0 without causing problems? Can both versions run independantly?

I've worked with mp3s many times in 6.5 without problems.

As for running 6.0 and 6.5 independently on your PC, I have my doubts. I think they use a shared folder in which 6.5 would overwrite, but since I've never tried to run both on the same PC, my wood may be wet.

In 6.5 how can I mix mp3s and save the edited file as an mp3?

My object was never to export MP3s, just use them to export to AVI/MPG. Sorry.
