Hi :)

I always see edited photos of eyes with enchanced colour and faces with edited on make up.
For AGES ive been wondering how to change the colour of the yes to make them have more of an impact, and also add make-up or certain features to people on photographs.

Does anyone have any usual tips/tutorials?

Thanks in advance.

Sam.

Im using PSPX by the way.

Sorry for double posting, I couldnt see an edit button.

There are several techniques to be used. you would have to go in and select the areas you wish to alter from the picture, like the lips or the eyes, and use the tools to modify them. Try using the Select (Lasso) tool, to get a portion of the picture, and the edit it. Add brightness, maybe some contrast, you can add color or hue.

There are many things that can be done.

But i don't think you'll find a step by step guide to modify eyes, or enhance makeup on a picture.

You'll have to apply filters and see what works.

Ill give that a try now!

Thank you!

Here's one method for making the eyes shine more:

And this to change the eye colors using adjustment layers:

They are both for PSP7 but work pretty much the same in PSPX.

Make-up tutorials I haven't seen around, but basically it is a matter of experimenting with different adjustment tools, specially those that change the hue.

Thanks for those tutorials too.

They have been a big help :)

I've also been able to change eye color using the red eye removal feature.

PSPX had the makeover tool that is good for tanning or teeth whitening. I also use it to lighten the eye glint sometimes. This gives the eye more character if not overdone.

You could use the dodge tool to lighten the eye glint. Have it set on Highlights and set the opacity to around 10% and go over it as many times as you need to the required effect. It's more controllable than using the teeth whitener. I use it for the teeth too!

Try using burn on 5% opacity, set to shadows, around the lashes area, it will enhance the eyes.
