Is it possible to execute a .dat file and to find a certain point in the file on each line and delete any text input and replace with a space?

I have a .dat file that needs to have certain information removed and replaced with exactly the same amount of characters (spaces). Each line in the document could have any amount of characters that need to be removed from the same place on each line?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you for getting back to me so soon. I am pretty new to VBS and am trying to learn as I go.

I attached a file similiar to that of what I have.

If the text in the column containting Months had to be removed and replaced with the same amount of spaces for each row, how would the script look roughly?

Thanks again
