I've just found, on a new Win2000 2-machine network, that the system is not locking records when edit mode is entered. Two editing entries can be made simultaneously, with the last - posted one showing up when table is closed then re - displayed (no updated record is shown on machine B when machine A posts a change to the record, and vice versa).

The network control file is set through BDE to the same directory: a directory on machine A. I've used paradox for years on another system, and took record locking to be automatic, as long as the net control file was properly set. Machine A is running paradox 9, and machine B is running version 10. What is happening?

sschiller,

Fire up the BDE Administrator in Control Panel and then review the LOCAL SHARE setting for the Native Paradox driver. It should be set to true on both machines.

Hope this helps...
