I have a data entry field with the following mask: 00-LLL-0000. The problem is that the field in optional and they may want to leave it blank. How can I create a data entry mask that satisfies both requirments?

From the Help section, I think you would change the mask to:
99-???-9999
The problem is the user would still have to enter the hyphens in the 3rd and 7th positions if the parameter was optional. CR 8.0 did a better job with masks, I think, than does CR XI.
