How do you edit and save a high resolution PDF file and maintain the high resolution?

I want to replace one page in a PDF file that I have created for printing. Everytime I do this and try to save it the file size is reduced by more than half the size.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Open Acrobat Distiller:

Go to Settings > Edit Adobe PDF Settings
Select the Images Tab > Turn off all Downsampling.
While your at it. Select the fonts tab > Add all of your fonts to Always Embed.

Go to save as at the bottom of the window and save this profile. Give it an obvious name and close Distiller.

Open Acrobat and your document. Go to Print > Select Adobe PDF as your printer. Hit Properties > Adobe PDF settings.
Select your new profile under Default Settings. Hit ok then hit ok to "print" to save a new pdf.

Well, I tried it but it didn't work. There must be something I'm missing.
