I have a requirement to send edi transaction using edi int. My translator does not support this. Has anyone used a third party edi int product with their translator? The only 3rd party product I know of is from iSoft. Are there others out there?

Thanks

Duke

Duke,
What's your platform/translator?!? We use EDI/INT on the AS400 (iSeries) interfacing to EDI400 (Premenos/Harbinger/Peregrine) using EDI/IP from Trailblazer Systems. Other packages that I know of would be: IPNet and Cyclone.

I use a NT based translator from Actio - Can you give me an idea of the type of costs I may be looking at for adding an EDI INT module?

Thanks

I am also researching an EDI-INT solution. I have found three vendors so far; bTrade, Trailblazer and IP Net. Our EDI is run on an AS/400 with Trustedlink as the translator. Are there any other vendors I should be looking at? I would like to keep everything on the '400 if possible.

Thanks

Triumph95,

If you'd like to keep it on the AS/400, take a closer look at Trailblazer. Their support is very familiar with the TL EDI/400 translator. They were also able to provide us numerous references. The other cos. mentioned wouldn't provide any who were AS/400 shops.

Cheers!

triumph95,

We use Trailblazer here in our AS400 shop (actually for FTP and EDI-INT/IP) -- I highly recommend them!! The software is easy to use, easy to configure, easy to interface, and easy to maintain!! And Tech Support is awesome! I wish all our software providers were like these guys!

For what its worth ...

We currently are looking at bTrade, iSoft, Cleo and a few others, anyone has any other recommendations? We're Windows NT/2000 based.

Although I've never been in a shop that had Trailblazer, I've heard nothing but great things about them. From what I understand, the price is somewhere between 6-10K. For some reason none of my clients ever want to pay for it, instead they seem to want to pay me 4 or 5 times more to program it from scratch. Figure that one out -- but who's complaining?

Hi All - Trailblazer's pricing is actually tiered according to the number of vendors you want to set up. A basic setup for 3 partners will be about 10K. From there it goes up. But you can also get special package prices depending on what your needs are and how many more than 3 partners you want to set up.

What I have been sugesting the most for those who already have an EDI operational/funtional environent is Lexicom from Cleo. EDI Int is a matter of communication protocol and Lexicom is the communication interafce you might need, it is plattaform independent, and it has been certified form Drummond Group. Test it, and look for the best four you. Think also on your costs on certificate or certificates administration. Hope this helps.

There are several EDI INT packages out in the marketplace. The Drummond Group's web site is a great place to start with to view which products have been tested and proven to be interoperable. Last thing you want is a package that is restrictive. Cyclone Commerce is also available on an AS400 platform. WalMart selected iSoft, so they've received alot of publicity. Trailblazers seems to have a solid product, as well as Cleo. Btrade has alot of functionality bundled with TD Access and TD Peer. Basically there are alot of options to choose from.
