I am developing a support application to enhance my client's EDI system.

I need to build a database that will contain among other things some standard EDI codes.

For example, "Technical Errors" have a code and a description; is there a table somewhere that has this information? I also need "Apllication Advice" codes and descriptions.

In short, I need any documentation on EDI tags or tokens.

You could do some serious 'net searching and would probably find most of what you need.

If your client's EDI system, includes a translator then the
documentation and codes you are inquiring about should be
available. Most translators include a reporting feature
for various transactions.

When you mentioned 'Application Advise', I assumed you were meaning inbound transactions, if that is the case each trading partner should supply an appendix to their implementation guide which contains the codes and descriptions. These would be entered into translation tables, used by the 'Application Advise' (824) maps for the
trading partner.

You may just have to take advantage of the features in the EDI system (whatever that includes).

That's a good tip, Last1Out. I'll take a look in the direction you indicated.
