We haven't made the jump to Exchange 2007 yet and we're finally getting into the planning stage. I'm a bit confused by the ability of the Edge server and how it performs anti-virus and anti-spam. Is this feature built in to the Edge services, or does it come from the Forefront Security package (and this includes ISA correct?)?

What are the prices like on that Forefront?

You'd want ForeFront on top of the Edge and no, ISA doesn't feature in any part of this. The Edge has no inbuilt anti virus of its own.

Following how MS does it, install ForeFront on both the Edge Transport boxes and the Hub Transport boxes. That covers both inbound (Edge) and internal (Hub) traffic.

Edge requires 64bit, while ISA is still 32bit, IIRC. The two can't interact together, but you could, theoretically, virtualize both onto a 64bit box with a 32bit host for ISA. YMMV.
