Hello,

Iam working on an application that pushes Sales orders in great plains using econnect,

the problem is with tax calculations, because the application has calculated taxes already, and the totals should not change after order is generated, because the way GP calculates taxes, it can be off by a penny.

Someone suggested that a possible solution might to create custom tax schedules for the external application.
The tax schedules can be created in such a way that they dont recalculate taxes after an order is posted.

Is it possible to create tax schedules in GP that they dont recalculate taxes every time an order pulled in GP's UI ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, In eConnect you can disable the SOP tax calculations. This will allow you to pass in the tax calculated in your external application and GP will not recalculate so long as a user does not open and save the integrated SOP document prior to posting.
For more information refer to the eConnect help file.

eConnect includes a tax engine that allows you to automatically create taxes. If you use the tax engine, you no longer need to specify tax information in the tax nodes. The <taSopHdrIvcInsert> XML node contains six elements that control the tax engine. To use the tax engine, be aware of the following:
Set the create taxes flag (CREATETAXES) element to 1 to use the tax engine. If you are integrating your own taxes, set CREATETAXES to 0.

I hope this helps.
