I'm trying to run and Eclipse on a 9700 as a DOS/diskless workstation. The HW matrix say's it should run the DOS client. I can get it to boot but the touchscreen is not working correctly, it lags and is not calibrated. The confidence test on the server to set the calibration does not work.

The mag reader is not working either.

Is there a different image file for the eclipse?

Map drive to \netsetup in the Micros dir. Run this exe in this Dir of the same name

Don't remember off hand, but I think the eclipse workstations needed to be in the bootptab file in the 9700/etc folder. If it is not in this one the DOS workstations will not know how to connect to get to the image.

It is in the bootptab and it does boot but the touch screen does not work correctly. I'm was wondering if there was a different image file for the eclipse.

Also, make sure the Workstation Device in EMC is set to Dos.

Provided it the workstation is setup/configured correctly, it should download the image. You should see the image files in a folder named tftpb (or something close, sorry not where I can check the folder).

Also, are you sure the screen actually works? Can you do a LEFT RIGHT LEFT for the Configuration screen?

I have 2 of them and they both react the same way so I am pretty sure they are working. I can't get into the config because of the touch screen problems.

The confidence test from the server will not work on them either.

I'm trying to get a new image file from Micros or a new ghost image to run them from the HD.

Check in the TFTPBoot folders under the main 9700 directory. In that folder you should see other folders with IP addresses. Depending on how you are setup you can take one of those folders and Copy it and then rename it to one of the IP address's of one that is not working. Of course make a backup of it before you do this. And make sure the one you are copying is not one of the ones that is not working, you might have a default one. These are the images for the dos workstations.

No those are the config files for the workstation, calibration, server ip etc... The config file is in the tftp directory. It's shared with all the pcws's. Since these are the first eclipses I have I don't have a config file I can copy to their directory.

Well micros was no help. Since support ended on the Eclipse they no longer have any images. It must be replaced with a 5A.

Anyone have a ghost image of an Eclipse they could share?

I can see if I have one floating around in my backups, but I doubt it. Give me a few days.

left right left right. you have to get into the config screen to match the server ip address. (this is first) to make sure you have to drop down to a window screen and ping the server

if everything passes, go into the EMC, look at the workstation menu and see the status that workstation. there you can force a reboot or shutdown. quite often a workstation if locked into a transaction will get stuck on (contrast up, contrast down)

an image will not help you as the above will have to pass either way. you can also re-cal the station. this will force the image. Further more, if the re-cal doesn't work, you have to remove the mac address so that it will assume it is a new worktation.

Well I got an image for the HD. It looks like a 3700 server disk. Any ideas on how I can use it to connect to a 9700 system.

1st it does not autologin. I've set the IP for the workstation I want it to be and tried to run cal config but can't config.
