echo on my hyperterminal 1

Good Morning all,
Hope everybody had a Merry Christmas. Looks like I have come back to work and am trying to use my hyperterminal that has a connection to my Opt 11 switch. It has this confounded echo turned on. When I type logi it reads llooggii. Does anybody know how to turn that off? Any help anybody could give, I would greatly appreciate.

go to properties - settings - ascii setup - uncheck the box for "echo typed charaters locally
