I have installed a Nortel MICS with copper DID trunks and have a problem with echo at times. The Telco is a small co-op and is not fimilar with DID, I suspect that they are not correct on the settings of the trunks. Can anyone give me some information so I can help them and maybe solve my echo problem?

have you tried to troubleshoot the echo issue w your butt set by connecting to one of your DID trunks and call some of your sets that have DID's or call into them to see if you have any echo doing these procedures

I have made calls on the DID trunks and do not have the echo that is on the incoming calls.

Sorry about that, I answered your question wrong, I don't have the echo when I make the calls with my butt set but do have the echo on the incoming calls. The trunks are only one way, incoming.

How many copper DID trunks do you have? If more than one, short out all but one trunk and make test calls. See if you can narrow down which trunk it is. If you have tested the ports in the system with a butt-set, then I would say its the LEC.

DID TRUNKS WILL NORMALLY HAVE LINE TREATMENT ON THEM SUCH AS VOICE REPEATERS TO INCREASE THE GAIN, I WOULD SAY THAT YOU MAY HAVE ONE OR TWO TRUNKS THAT NEED TO BE TWEEKED BY TELCO
