I have a user that has a long distance number on his cell phone but, we use long distance codes to make outbound calls. So, when he has his EC500 enabled and a call comes in to his desk phone and it tries to forward to his cell phone ( which is long distance ) it won't go through because it needs a long distance code.

Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

We use long distance codes also, but I have not had any issues with calls going out LD via EC500. Have you traced the station to see if your getting any type off error when the system tries to call the cell number?

When you program his Cell number in EC500, try putting the LD codes in front of his cell number. I haven't worked on a Definity system in about a year, so i can't test for you, but that might work.

We have the same situation. In fact I had to set one up today. SO many people these days keep ehir cells from their home town so their friends and family can call them local.

its convoluted but possible

Make the off-pbx station map trunk field ars and put the 1 in front of the number in the dial prefix.

Make a route that deletes the 11 digits then inserts them again followed by ,,nnnn where nnnn is the LD code. Ours are 4 digits

Make an ars enrty for the 1+the number that points to the route.

I only went through all this for the owners of the company and a couple of friends. Others I tell that it is not possible because I dont really have a lot of routes to spare.

BTW: at least in CM3 you cannot put the ,,nnnn in the ec500 config

Hey 9mm,
We only have about 2 users that need this. I am kind of new to working with avaya.

It sounds like what you did before is what I am looking for, but being a newbie I am very foggy on the steps you took.

If it is not to much trouble and will be greatly appreciated if you could spell it out step by step on what I need to do, to accomplish it.

Thank you so much for your time and help.
