Couple years ago I worked on a G3 and we used Xmobile extensions. Now we have CM3.1.1 and use Off-PBX stations, what I am looking for is how do I call in from outside, and then call within the system from my extensions' call appearance so it looks to other users like I am at my desk.
(actually this is for the big boss, not me). I have Off-PBX station set up, and it calls my cell just fine, how does it work the other way?

It's in the mapping setup on page 2 of the off-station form.

Also of note...

On page 1 of the same form, the number dialed should ONLY be the area code and phone number. Put the 1 in the pre-fix field.

Yes, calls to my extension ring my cell just fine. Page two doesn't seem to help me.

call limit - 2
mapping mode - both
calls allowed - all
bridged calls - origination

How do I use these fields to tell me how to call in from my cell, get dial tone on my call appearance, and then call another extension within the CM? There must be a piece I am missing. I went to change Off- fea, and put a valid DID in the "idle line preference" screen, and tested, calls to the DID were returned by the network as not a working number. I assigned this DID to a test phone and it worked. What am I missing? I thought it was supposed to be that if I called from the cell I was mapped to, I could reach the idle line appearance....?

Yes, it is valid DID numbers that I was using...they work when assigned to a phone.

Thanks

I got it, the cell number I was mapped to was 7 digits, I changed ars digit anal, put in my 10 digit cell, stripped 3 digits, and everything works fine. So now the PBX gets a match on my cell number mapping.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Could you paste you ars digit conversion? I am interested in this as well.

Thanks,

Joe

ars digit = Matching pattern = 10 digit cell number, max 10 min 10, del = 3 (area code), replacement string blank, net = ars N N. Sorry can't paste my boss's cell number.

the command line is = change ars digit-conversion xxxxxxxxxx, whre x's equal the cell number.

Then change Off-PBX- Feature, put a valid DID in the "idle line appearance" field. Call this DID number from the mapped cell number, you get dial tone on the idle line appearance. CPI then is from your PBX station.

Thanks... I have it setup exactly like that however, I am still receiving network errors:

3:42:02 Calling party trunk-group 31 member 23 cid 0x2662
13:42:02 Calling Number & Name 267XXXXXXX NO-CPName
13:42:02 active trunk-group 31 member 23 cid 0x2662
13:42:02 feature name extension 53860 cid 0x2662
13:42:02 idle trunk-group 31 cid 0x2662

Any thoughts?

is this with an incoming call to the Off PBX Fea DID, or is this a call to the station and outgoing EC500??

Incoming to Off PBX Fea DID. I did a list trace on the TAC where the DID resides.

double check your EC500 mapping, is it going to the 10 digit cell that your digit conversion took care of? Of course it has to be an exact match, that is your security point. I am assuming that, like me, you have 7 digit numbers to your cell and the cell CPI is a 10 digit number.

Actually, my cell is outside of the area code. So my "Off PBX station..." has 1267 in the prefix. So in digit conversion, I used 11 11 stip 4; 10 10 strip 3. Neither worked. Used two separate DIDs as well.

I appreciate your help with this... I received a lot of questions about this as well.

If your cell is a 1 plus 10 digit dial, you should not do the digit conversion, that is your problem, the cell's CPI is 10 digits and you should be mapped to the same 10 digits on your Off-PBX station form. The 1 goes in the dial prefix field, the ten digits go in the number field, that should take care of it that is the field that is apparently matched.

Works well for us. The people who have remote cell numbers (different area code) are mapped as above and had no problems from day one.
