I need to add a block of DID 4 digit numbers to our dial plan. Is this something I as an administrator should be able to figure out and do or would you recommend I call the vendor? What load would I start with? Thanks,

If the new numbers match your extensions, you don't need to do anything - just start adding DNs. If they don't or cant match, you need to edit the Incoming Digit Conversion table referenced in the Route

Print the Route in LD21

Print/edit the IDC in LD49

Gene is correct however, you have to order them from your Telco first. Then you'll get a list of what they have available and you need to check that with an LUDN

Good point, and don't assume the numbers they tell you during the order process are what will be delivered. Numbers often have "issues" being sold to customers and the order is frequently changed before you get them.

I already have the DID's installed and working in location A, and they are able to 4 digit to location B. But location B is not able to 4 digit (a particular block) to location A. So I think I just need to add that block to location B. Correct?

Sounds like you need to add "CDP" steering codes in Location "B" that point to "A"

To see what you have today, log into "B" and do:

>LD 87
REQ PRT
CUST 0
FEAT CDP
TYPE ALL

here is the info for location B. It looks like instead of a 0 under FLN there should be a 4. All the other ones have a 4. Can I assume that I go to load 87 and go chg CDP, DSP 6, then FLEN 4 or no? Not sure what I start with. Thanks,

NXX
DSC 6
FLEN 0
DSP LSC
RLI 18

No, don't change the FLEN. That has nothing to do with what numbers can be dialed - in fact it could, in theory, mess up the existing plan.

What numbers cannot be dialed - and are they within an existing steering code ?

The numbers that can not be dialed are 6xxx numbers from location B to any other location.

You will need a 4 under FLEN if the NCDP prompt in LD 86 ESN_DATA is anything other than 4. Print ESN in LD 86 and determine the setting for the NCDP prompt.

the NDCP is 4 under the prt esn data

Then your FLEN can remain 0 but changing it to 4 won't hurt anything.

What do you get when you make a call to 6xxx? Fast busy? Is this a point to point PRI between sites or is it VOIP? You might want to post more detail about your setup such as system types and S/W releases, how they are connected, samples or working calls vs. non-working calls, etc.

And do all the steering codes reference RLI 18? Or just the "6"?

OK back to this. When I call 6000 #'s it is a fast busy. The calls should be going through our SIP trunks. What else would you like me to provide on the programming? All the other numbers I can dial, just not the 6000 numbers. Ill wait to hear. Thanks,

Need to find out what RLI another leading digit uses to reach that site over the SIP trunks. So, print out all your CDP and pick a "working" leading digit, note the RLI value, then change DSC 6 to reference that RLI.

Also, since they are VOIP trunks, I think you will have some NRS stuff to do for it to work. VOIP savvy folks may have more input on that to help you.
