Easy question

I'm new to flash and I just have a simple question (or I think it's an simple question).

Let's just say I have a letter and I want to turn it upside down. How would I do that with out making it swirl and morph into odd shapes?

I made the letter used the break apart command. Then used the rotate tool to turn it upside down. Then I used the shape tween to provide the function.

It seems to me that, you have a good idea of how to transform the letter. I always say, "Do it the way you feel is the easiest for you"! Myself, I would have probably done pretty much the same thing.
