Easy auto run question

Start > Run > type: msconfig > click 'startup' tab > untick box which refers to virus scanner > click 'OK' > restart PC.
When the PC restarts you will get a box that pops up stating you have used the system config editor to change the way your PC starts. Tick the box that says 'don't show me this message again' and click OK.

MSConfig doesnt come with Windows2000 so you might not have it unless you have downloaded it, The other way is to check the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
