Backup server is HP with NT4.0 running AS2000 SP2 with HP DLT 1/9 changer and Adaptec card. SQL source server is HP LPR with NT4.0 running SQL2000 and patched SQL Agent. Backup is running without errors but receive error when attempting to restore to different server with different or same db name. SQL Agent log no help. Entire error message is: "E8617 - Failed to end restore (Dbname=gl EC=Backup agent error,(73)SQL Server Error. Please check the log file DBASQL.log". Folloing CAI SQL restore instruction with various login names and did reinstall of SQL agent. Is this an account rights error on the SQL server with backup account or SQL "SA" account? Can it be related to NIC speed at full duplex? A physical problem? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
