Hello
Here is the situation!
Arcserve 2000 SP4, SQL server 2000 Sp3, on SQL server I have a client agent!

I can do backup with no problem, but when I try to restore the backup I get:
E8603 - Failed to write to database DBNAME=***,EC=Backup agent error -(83),Remote Pipe open failed,: Time out".)
E8617 - Failed to end restore ,EC=Backup agent error,(73)"SQL server error, please check the log file DBASQL.LOG

I found here on Tek-Tips a tip to enable TCP in registry, but when I do that, backup don't work either and for restore I get new kind of error E8601- Failed to connect, EC= Backup agent does not exist!
I tried reinstalling Client agent, to no avail!
But things get more complicated, i get those error only with couple SQL databases that are over 10 GB in size! With smaller databases I have no problem! I have no idea is that the problem, I mean the size?
Anyone, please!?
I am trying this for a week now and I'm getting very frustrated!

Nexialist,
With SQL restores you need double the size of the database that you are trying to restore in free disk space. Also please remember that SQL is going to automatically create the database and dynamically grow this. If the databases are large then it may take some time to grow the database and therefore the restore times out.
