Getting the above error message with 22 email accounts various mail boxes (some deleted box, some inbox etc). This has been occurring for several weeks, initially it was 44 mailboxes not being backed up now 22 mailboxes not backing up? The following error message appears 'E8602 Failed to read from database (DBName=Individual mailboxes\Username\Inbox EC=Backup Agent Error (69) "Read Write error in named pipes"). Anybody know the reason for or hard similar problems which they managed to resolve?
Many Thanks.

Forgot to add the following into the above:
Arcserve 6.61 (Build 834)
PDC Netshield
BDC Netshield and Groupshield Exchange installed.

If you are running Arcserve 2000, call their tech support. There is a fix for this not yet a patch on their website. What I found out is if the e-mail recipient count was over 1,000 users, which the software does not support, the mailbox will time out. I've had this problem for 3 months until they found me someone with some intelligence.

Hi boothy,

The database is corrupted. To repair it, it is preferred the user call Microsoft for proper instructions on running edbutil /d /r & isinteg -fix.

Hi Boothy, try disabling groupshield for the backup, if this works then your clearly getting timeouts due to the Antivirus API clashing with the MAPI.

there is a workaround on technet microsoft, I will give you the link if you confirm to me that this was the problem.

To ArcserveGuru, I stopped all the Groupshield services and ran a test backup of the Exchange Brick Level, this backed up successfully. Please can you provide the link for the workaround.

Many Thanks
Boothy
